Fostering a Sustainable Writing Culture among UNAIR academia
The Institute for Innovation, Journal Development, Publishing, and Intellectual Property Rights (LIPJPHKI) at Universitas Airlangga (Unair) recently held the 21st edition of its “UNAIR MENULIS” program, dedicated to building, sustaining, and reinforcing a writing habit among researchers at Unair. This latest session focused on the application of Scopus AI, showcasing how this technology can assist academics in managing complex information through reliable, AI-generated summaries.
Conducted both online via Zoom and in-person at LIPJPHKI’s offices, the event featured esteemed speakers including Prof. Hery Purnobasuki, M.Sc., Ph.D., Chair of LIPJPHKI, and Ferry Efendi, S.Kep. Ns., M.Sc., Ph.D., Secretary of LIPJPHKI, with Rifky Octavia Pradipta, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., as moderator. Prof. Hery emphasized the importance of consistent writing practice supported by innovative tools like Scopus AI, describing it as “not just a tool, but a strategic partner in overcoming the challenges of complex information.”
Ferry Efendi guided participants through the Scopus AI feature, explaining how it utilizes exclusive, peer-reviewed Scopus content to assist researchers without replacing their creative input. The session also included hands-on practice and an interactive Q&A, providing researchers with practical insights into using Scopus AI to enhance their work.
Through the UNAIR MENULIS BATCH 21 program, LIPJPHKI aims to foster a lasting culture of writing among researchers, supporting sustained academic output and collaboration. This initiative is a strategic step toward strengthening scientific and research-based innovation at Unair and across Indonesia.
