Dear colleagues and friends,
Warm greetings from the Council of Asian Scientific Editors (CASE). As we look back at the past year, I am pleased to share the progress, energy, and sense of community that continue to shape our journey together. CASE has remained committed to supporting editors, reviewers, publishers, and researchers across Asia as we work collectively to strengthen the quality and integrity of scholarly publishing.
This year has been particularly encouraging, with several well-received webinars and workshops that brought together participants from universities, research institutes, and editorial offices throughout the region. Our sessions on peer review, publication ethics, AI in editorial workflows, journal indexing, and open science have sparked active conversations and generated new insights. These programs not only provided practical skills, but also fostered a spirit of collaboration and shared learning, something truly central to CASE’s mission.
We are also delighted to see our membership community continues to expand. More journals and editors from different countries are joining CASE, reflecting the growing recognition that regional cooperation can help elevate Asian scholarship on the global stage. Alongside this growth, we remain committed to promoting responsible publishing practices, including ethical authorship, transparency in peer review, and careful use of new technologies such as AI-assisted writing and reviewing.
Looking forward, we aim to deepen our relationships with national editor associations, universities, indexing agencies, and international partners. We will continue to organize relevant training programs and networking activities, while exploring new ways to support editors, especially those managing emerging or developing journals. We are also committed to enhancing the annual CASE Conference, making it a vibrant platform where experiences, innovations, and challenges can be shared openly.
The landscape of scientific publishing continues to evolve rapidly, and with it comes both challenges and opportunities. With your continued engagement, I believe CASE is well-positioned to guide, support, and uplift the Asian editorial community in meaningful ways.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I look forward to working closely with all of you as we shape the future of scholarly publishing in Asia.
