The Malaysian Citation Centre, formerly under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and dissolved in 2024, has been reinstated in early June 2025.

The inaugural event is a briefing session concerning the Evaluation of Malaysian Scientific Journals for the year 2025, which transpired online on 16 June 2025. This session is meticulously designed to elucidate the principal criteria for the impending assessment, thereby fostering the participation of Malaysian scientific journals in the MyCite indexing initiative. 

For the year 2025, all applications must be submitted via the MySitasi system. Applications are exclusively open to journals published in Malaysia. The journals must have disseminated complete issues for the preceding three years, specifically 2022, 2023, and 2024. 

The briefing was conducted by Prof Dato Roslan Abdul Shukor, a distinguished retired professor from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
