The 4th Asian Science Editors’ Conference & Workshop 2017
The Council of Asian Science Editors (CASE) in collaboration with Vietnam Association of Science Editing (VASE) and Nong Lam University (NLU) organized the 4th Asian Editors Conference and Workshop CASE 2017 with the theme
The aim of this conference was to bring the editors and experts on scientific journals to discuss the promotion of the Asian Scientific, Technological and Medical Journals to international level. In offering specific solutions, the two-days program of July 6-7, 2017 helped scientists and editors to access specific solutions for editing scientific publications using international standard, including:
- – Standards of journal format, CrossRef in Vietnam, Digital Standard, Manuscript Editing.
- – The current development trend of journals worldwide in new approaches to readers and authors, the trend for open access.
- – Management and development of journals towards international quality in the fields of engineering, medical, agriculture and natural science.
- – Publication ethics, scientific peer reviewing.
The sessions were chaired by reknown experts from CASE. The invited lectures from scientific authors, editors, editorial boards as well as from publishing service companies such as Elsevier, Editage, Turnitin had provided the participants the full picture of the science editing work in the new era in Asia.
CASE2017 event had attracted more than 200 registrations from publishing companies, science editors and authors, including more than 60 from journal editorial boards, 25 university leaders and editor-in-chiefs, 31 international editors, 26 speakers from reknown journals and publishing companies
Professor Dang Vu Minh – President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) has given his congratulatory speech at the conference. Professor Nguyen Hay – Rector of Nong Lam University (NLU) had warmly welcome the participants, CASE and VASE members on behalf of the local organizer. In the opening speech, Professor Banh Tien Long – President of CASE, had stressed the importance of the science editing in promoting Vietnamese and Asian journal towards international level through CASE2017. He had noted the great contributions of the CASE, VASE, NLU in collaboration with donors such as Kisti, Elsevier and Editage in making the success of CASE2017. The leaders from CASE, VASE, VUSTA and NLU had marked the event with a tree planting ceremony in NLU campus.
The next conference and workshop CASE2018 was announced to be held in Bogor, Indonesia.
