European Association of Science Editors (EASE) hosted the first virtual conference in its history on June 12th, 2020 on the theme of ‘editors and editing in times of crisis’
The conference attempted to answer the questions on what have we have learnt, and what lessons can one take away to help us in the future. The plenary sessions were recorded and are still available at the following

1. The realities of being an editor in a time of crisis, lessons learned and recommendations for the future [Speakers: Naomi Lee, Senior Executive Editor (Research), The Lancet; Ines Steffens, Editor-in-chief, Eurosurveillance]
2. Debate: It is acceptable to reduce quality assurance processes in order to fast-track important research in times of crisis [Moderator: Joan Marsh, The Lancet; Proponent: Hervé Maisonneuve, Medical writer; Opponent: Ana Marušić, University of Split]
3. Preprints and independent peer review services in crisis times [Speakers: Bahar Mehmani, moderator; Monica Granados, PREreview; Bianca Kramer, Utrecht University Library; Mario Malicki, METRICS; Jessica Polka, AsapBio; Janne Seppanen, Peerage of Science].

Asia OA Meeting 2020

Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) hosted the Asian OA Meeting 2020 [September 9 – 16, 2020] under the theme of [Building a Sustainable, Asian Knowledge Commons for Open Science Era] as following;
Two Keynote speakers presented ‘Open Science in a COVID-19 World’ by Kathleen Shearer (Executive Director, COAR), and ‘Recent Trends in Open Research: Changing Research Culture’ by Caroline Sutton (Chair, OASPA/Director, Open Research, T&F).
The event was composed of three Sessions, [Session 1. Open Science Infostructure; Session 2. Services & Policy for Open Science, and Session 3. Penal Discussion on Promoting Open Science in Asia] with one Workshop [Asia OA Member Workshop] in Live Video Conference. The contents are still viewable in the aforementioned Venue.
2021 Seoul APRI Network Conference

National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) will host the event [2021 Seoul APRI Network Conference], under the theme of ‘Current Issues and Tasks to Establish Research Ethics in the Era of Covid-19’ organized by Korean University Council of Research Ethics (KUCRE).
The goal of the Conference states the reinforcing a network for establishing research ethics in Asia-Pacific countries, as well as promoting the achievements of Korea’s research ethics establishment. Also, to exchange information and efforts to further put in place research ethics in each country and set a culture of Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) that meets a global standard.
The event is composed of three Keynote lectures, [ Changes and Responses to the Research Ecosystem in the COVID-19 Era (Jung-Hye Roe, President, National Research Foundation of Korea, South Korea); The Importance of Research Integrity During the COVID-19 Pandemic (Daniel Barr, Principal Research Integrity Advisor, RMIT, 2021 Seoul APRI Co-Chair, Australia); Research Ethics Stakeholder’s Role for RCR (InJae Lee, Director, Korean University Council of Research Ethics, 2021 Seoul APRI Local Lead, South Korea)] and 4 plenary lectures, [Efforts and Results to Establish Research Integrity with the Government After the 3rd APRI Conference; Sharing How to Identify Research Misconduct Verification; Data Integrity and Publication Ethics; Challenges of Research Ethics/Integrity and RCR Education].
